You don't need a Contract with any Carrier if you already own the equipment..
You just need to be able to pay an Industry Average $18-$36 activation fee, The first months and second months payment up front... which for most carriers would be around $156 to start + taxes and you would do that because you would have.. No ETF and unlike the prepaid services you get all the bells and whistles that your device is capable of..Like Internet, Mobile Tv, Games etc... If you don't care about stuff like that go with a Straight Talk phone for $45 a month for unlimited/unlimited with no Games option as they have equal coverage to AT&T's go phone which you can get for $59.99 a month unlimited/media net capable but extra plans

straight talk got rid of the sumsung finesse. Plus they are tracfone with a different style. the best phone they have is a blackberry clone.
and most phone OOC are like 300-400 bucks. iphones are like 700-1200. ouch. I did se a nokia smartphone for 150 OOC. not too bad. samsung finesse are around 120 unlocked. I could get one easy but I don't feel like a monthly yet. My life is too scattered to know what I wanna obligate to. even without a contract you still want to pay on it anyways. it is just a monthly nag to me. I want a smartphone that is tracfone style prepaid. buying chunks of minutes and having 90+ days instead of 30 days and not having a monthly nag. I would rather pay in halves of the year. Less nags. Now data would be measured in MB transferred not 0.5 units/to open browser and .30/min every minute I surf the wap. I hate how tracfone does it. then they charge you for ringtones and there is no way to have custom unless you bluetooth hack or record with the sound recorder but it sounds like shite. I even used a website to send the link to your RT with SMS and it would not let me download the RT it said "unsupported content" and would not let mt get it. Oh well mabye someday I'll find a decent setup. For now I don't call alot so it is ok as it is.

I had a iphone 3g, but swapped it for a proper moddable device, a xperia x10. I prefer the xperia without a doubt, it runs android, not some propriatry crap.
I dont like the ipad, its too big, for something as big as that which needs a bag to carry it in (unless you want mugging) i would rather buy a laptop. Wile E, you Can run android on a iphone, there is a video somewere if you google. Last edited by Tigger; 09-02-2010 at 08:29 PM. |

Android on iPhone is not stable. No power saving features are enabled. You get about an hour of battery life.
